Police recovered three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted beneath a dirt track by Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres in Narayanpur District in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh on September 30, reports The Times of India. The devices, each weighing five kilogrammes, were found near Hokpad village on the Kasturmeta-Mohndi Road during a patrol by a joint team of the district force and the 53rd battalion of the Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). The explosives, packed in pressure cookers, were hidden by Maoists beneath the earth on a dirt track to use them against security personnel, the Police said. The bomb disposal squad successfully neutralised the devices, preventing a potential tragedy.
