Two persons, including one child were killed while 23 others, including 15 Policemen sustained injuries when a powerful explosion blew up City Police Station roof in Swabi city (Swabi District) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on September 26, reports Aaj TV. A statement from the Swabi Police spokesperson said the explosion was caused by a short circuit in a room where seized explosive materials and case evidence were dumped. However, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on September 27 issued a statement via the group affiliated communication channels claimed responsibility for the blast, adds The Khorasan Diary. Statement claimed that explosives, planted by TTP affiliated militants, destroyed the building.
