Khartoum State authorities announced on Monday that 15 civilians were killed and 61 others were injured in an artillery attack by the Rapid Support Forces on a crowded market north of Omdurman.

It is noteworthy that the Rapid Support Forces targeted the Sabreen Market area in the Al-Thawra suburb, north of Omdurman, several times in less than a week, resulting in deaths and injuries.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Health in Khartoum State, Mohamed Ibrahim, said that 15 civilians, including children and women, were killed and 61 others were injured as a result of artillery shelling by the Rapid Support Forces on Monday on the Sabreen Market in the Karari locality, north of Omdurman.
He stated in a press release that the Rapid Support Forces shelled the Sabreen Market in Karari, which is crowded with citizens, and neighborhoods adjacent to the market.
He explained that there are deaths and injuries that have not reached the hospitals of Al-Naw, Sawaeed and Al-Desouki and have not been counted yet.
The artillery shelling by the Rapid Support Forces targeted the Sabreen Market, the residences adjacent to the market, and the neighborhoods facing the journalistic neighborhood to the west in the Al-Thawra suburb, in addition to targeting the administrative building at the Al-Manara water station with two shells, according to the spokesman for the Ministry of Health in Khartoum.
According to eyewitnesses who spoke to Sudan Tribune, regular forces rushed to close the Sabreen market, which had enjoyed remarkable commercial activity, on Monday, after it was subjected to repeated artillery shelling.
The Rapid Support Forces in Khartoum Bahri have been active over the past two days in directing their artillery fire towards the Sabreen market and the Thawra suburb north of Omdurman, in addition to similar shelling from the Rapid Support Forces’ positions west of Omdurman.
