Air Delivered event in Niger on Mon 24th October 2022

The Ministry of National Defense has provided an update on the terrorist attack that occurred last weekend and early this week in the town of Tamou, near the W National Park. This is through a press release signed by Minister Alkassoum Indattou on October 26, 2022.

The press release made public reports a terrorist attack carried out on Saturday, October 22, 2022, on the joint water and forestry and police checkpoint of Tamou then that of Monday, October 24 on the 2nd police station which resulted in the death of 2 police officers and the removal of military equipment. "The ground sweep and aerial search operations led to enemy elements who had escaped to a clandestine gold site located to the east of the town of Tamou", explains the same press release which continues that at this clandestine site, the enemy clearly characterized by aerial reconnaissance had been spotted transhipping equipment taken during previous attacks into hangars.
