Unknown event in Burkina Faso on Fri 30th August 2024

#Burkina 🇧🇫 | For a week now, the villages of #Koulpélogo ( #Centre_Est ) have been harassed and attacked daily by the terrorists of #JNIM . It started with attacks at #Bilam ( #Yargatenga ) on 08/25, then #Ouedogo and #Singhin ( #Sangha ) on 08/26, #Salembaoré on 08/29, #Yondé on 08/30 and #Sawenga on 09/03. 🔴 More than 10 #VDP were killed. Civilians were also killed in several villages including 10 in Yondé (6 from the royal family). 🔵 Concessions and granaries were looted. Livestock was taken away. 🔸 During the preparation of the funerals of the victims of Yondé on 31/08, the population gathered and expressed their dismay at the situation and the lack of resources of their VDP. 🔹 The villagers flee their village to take refuge in more secure communities. 🔹 The fields are deserted and the harvests are in danger of not being carried out. The harvests were nevertheless expected to be abundant. 🔹 The attacks were facilitated by the lack of telephone networks and the fact that the villagers had to defend themselves alone and without reinforcements. ⚠️ Terrorist pressure is felt as far as the border with #Togo 🇹🇬 and #Ghana 🇬🇭 . #RN16 is at risk of being targeted by terrorists again.
