Anti Air

Anti Air event in Mali on Fri 30th August 2024
30th August 2024
#Mali 🇲🇱 | 30/08. The departure of the convoy of the #Vengeance operation from #Gao is becoming clearer. 🔹 On the satellite images broadcast by @casusbellii , we can see the installation of the convoy on the airport zone of Gao. Several dozen MRAP armored vehicles, Kamaz trucks and 4x4s are visible on the parking area. (📷 n°2) 🔸 The number of #FDS and Russian mercenaries #Wagner making up this convoy could be around 600 to 800 men. The participation of Burkinabe and Nigerien #FDS is not established, knowing that this is not an anti-terrorist operation but an operation against the Tuareg rebels of the #CSP_DPA. 🔸 That said, this would be the largest military operation since the recapture of Kidal. 🔸 Let us recall that when Kidal was recaptured at the end of 2023, the FAMa - Wagner convoy had already left the Gao base. ⚠️ The Tuareg rebels of the #CSP_DPA, who have taken refuge in #Tinzaouatene, do not have the air power or the military capacity of the #FAMa - #Wagner, but they have increased knowledge of the terrain and benefit from local intelligence. ⚠️ #Algeria 🇩🇿, which has lost a large part of its diplomatic influence in the north of the Sahel for a year, has gathered soldiers and land, air and anti-aircraft resources on its border with Mali in order to prevent the conflict from spreading to its territory.
