SAA event in Burkina Faso on Wed 14th August 2024

#Burkina 🇧🇫 | The #JNIM claimed responsibility for the deadly attack on the convoy on the RR28 in #Nassougou (#East) between #Partiaga and #Ougarou. 🔹 The #JNIM claims the death of more than 140 #FDS and the destruction of more than 100 vehicles including 7 armored vehicles. The announced loot is very significant, including heavy weapons and rocket launchers. ⚠️ The videos and images of the loot released by the terrorists are impressive. 🔶 As symbols of this attack, we can cite Sergeant-Chief #ABOUGUÉRÉ_Abdoul of BIR 5 (📷 in illustration), in charge of protecting the convoy. The soldier was captured by the terrorists, and asks for help from the President of Faso in a video released by the JNIM. 🔹 The BIR 5 is the unit that lost the most soldiers during this terrorist attack. 🔶 We can also mention the journalist #Liridan_Philippe_ADA of the #RTB (📷 in illustration) who was part of the convoy and who was a victim of the terrorists. Alarming information is circulating about his state of health. 🔹 The BIR represent the elite anti-terrorist units valued and highlighted by the President of Faso. These are the best equipped units in the army. ⚠️ The fact that the terrorists manage to loot these units is a worrying element for #Burkina and neighboring countries, suggesting the commission of larger-scale terrorist attacks and on even more protected targets. 🔹It should be remembered that nearly 900 soldiers escorted this convoy.
