The People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) on September 8 claimed responsibility for shooting and injuring one Meisnam Abhi Singh (40) at an inter-village road under the Wangoo Police Station of Kakching District in Manipur on September 6, who was extorting money from civilians in the southern parts of Manipur, reports Northeast Now. In a statement, the PREPAK said that they had apprehended Meisnam Abhi Singh for his involvement in extortion activities under the guise of the party’s name. They accused Singh of extorting money from civilians despite previous warnings to cease such activities. As a result, Singh was shot in the right leg as a first-time punishment. The PREPAK has warned that anyone involved in similar illegal activities would face severe consequences and that individuals who collaborated with Singh are known to the party and should surrender or face harsher punishments.
