Manipur Police announced on X on September 8that a heavy exchange of firing between different groups at the Tea Estate of Rashidpur Part-II in Jiribam District of Manipur. Police found five dead bodies at the firing incident site. Police said three out of the four militants were cadres of Kuki Liberation Army (KLA), identified as Seiminlen Khongsai, Haogoulen Doungel, and Nehboithang Haokip, all residents of Churachandpur District and the fourth militant was identified as Baspatimayum Lakhi Kumar Sharma, a cadre of United National Liberation Front-Pambei (UNLF-P) and a resident of Dibong Khunou, Jiribam District. The civilian (Kuki village volunteer) who was killed in the incident was identified as Lhunkhohao Haokipof Mongbung Sejang, Jairolpokpi, Jiribam.
