On September 4, despite police, army, and navy personnel being present, a 15-year-old Hindu boy named Utsav Mondal was beaten by a mob inside a Bangladesh police station after being accused of making derogatory remarks about the Prophet Muhammad on Facebook, in the Sonadanga residential area of Khulna District in Khulna Division, reports India Today. Khulna Metropolitan Police's Deputy Commissioner (South), Mohammad Tajul Islam, confirmed that Utsav Mondal is alive, receiving treatment at an army hospital, and is out of danger. He added that a blasphemy case had been filed against him.
