OKLAHOMA CITY, (KOKH) — The bomb squad has cleared the scene and stated that the unknown device is a novelty device, likely made back in the 80s.

It is described as looking pretty real and old and constructed to be an alarm clock.

The scene has been secured and declared safe.

According to OKCPD, the individual was in the process of cleaning out a home they recently purchased when they found three sticks of dynamite-like objects in the kitchen.

Oklahoma City police officers are responding to a call of a possible explosive device at a residence near NW 12th Street and Portland Ave.

According to officials, police have secured the scene and are awaiting the arrival of the bomb squad for a proper examination.

While cleaning out their house, a resident called around 3:30 p.m. to alert police to a possible explosive device.
