In the last few hours, during military operations in a rural area of Ocaña, an individual was captured in flagrante delicto, apparently belonging to the Northeastern Front of the GAO ELN, who was transporting war material, supplies and explosives.
The soldiers were carrying out a checkpoint and when they checked the vehicle they found that he was transporting a 60 mm mortar, more than 2000 cartridges, mortar grenades, 500 kg of R1 explosives, 100 anti-personnel mines, 500 electric detonators, and weapons and ordnance material.
With this discovery, terrorist attacks intended by the GAO ELN against the civilian population and the security forces in Norte de Santander, especially in Catatumbo, were thwarted.
