An alleged explosive device inside a backpack was found inside a convenience store in the municipality of Celaya, Guanajuato.
According to the report of local security authorities, the incident occurred on the afternoon of Sunday, September 1, when an alert was issued about the presence of a suspected explosive object in front of a convenience store on 2 de Abril Avenue, corner with Adolfo López Mateos Boulevard.
Federal security elements arrived at the scene and were in charge of delimiting the area and removing the device.
Due to this operation, they had to close the roads from Adolfo López Mateos Boulevard to Paseo De Guanajuato and División del Norte, and from 2 de Abril Avenue between Tampico and Pino Suárez. Some of the nearby homes and businesses were also evacuated.
Agents specializing in bomb disposal arrived to take the suspected explosive and deactivate it in a place far from the urban area.
For their part, elements of the Attorney General's Office of the State of Guanajuato opened an investigation to clarify this discovery in the municipality of Celaya.
