Authorities reported on Sunday the discovery of a clandestine "drug factory" of explosives in Michoacán , a state in the west of the country, where three such facilities have been discovered in the last week.
A report from the Civil Guard (State Police) revealed that they found the "drug factory" inside an agricultural warehouse, in the town called Cenobio Moreno , in the municipality of Apatzingán in the Tierra Caliente region of Michoacán .
Agents from the Civil Guard, National Guard and the Army confiscated hundreds of devices that hitmen use as explosive charges for drones, landmines and homemade mortars.
A source from the Civil Guard told EFE that this warehouse is located 200 metres from a similar explosives factory that exploded on Saturday , leaving six men dead and one more injured, who later died early Sunday morning in a regional hospital.
Authorities maintain as their main hypothesis that both factories were operated by the Cartel de Los Blancos de Troya , headed by drug trafficker César Alejandro Sepúlveda Arellano 'El Bótox' , one of the most wanted criminals in Michoacán.
