MONTERREY, Nuevo León.- A tragedy occurred at the Palace of Justice in Nuevo León when a detainee , who was in police custody , managed to disarm one of the agents and then used the weapon to shoot himself, causing a serious injury.

Witnesses report that, in a moment of carelessness, the detainee lunged at the police officer , snatching his service weapon, and then shot himself in an attempt to take his own life.

Paramedics from the Medical Emergency Regulation Center (CRUM) quickly arrived at the scene to provide first aid, however, despite the efforts of the rescuers, it was confirmed that the man no longer showed vital signs .

The identity of the deceased has not yet been officially revealed.
