The Ministry of Defence has released more details about the unexploded bomb uncovered in a residential street in Devonport. Police, MoD and Royal Navy bomb experts were alerted to the discovery in Albany Street around 9.15am today. Construction workers uncovered a three inch mortar as they began work on the second phase of the Oceansgate Development - a huge Plymouth waterfront development. A 100-metre cordon was put in place and local evacuations took place. The Royal Navy Bomb Squad were called to the scene and removed the object from the area so it could be disposed of safely.
