Cluster munitions discovered in Zhytomyr region after missile strikes

In the Zhytomyr region, cluster munitions were found as a result of cruise missile strikes by the Russian army.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Zhytomyr region.


‘The cluster munitions were found during work at the sites of the cruise missile attacks that took place on 26 August. Work is currently underway to detect, seize and destroy the explosives. Police urge citizens to follow mine safety rules,’ the statement said.

It is noted that during the day, police explosive experts seized more than a dozen such munitions. They were taken away and destroyed in a safe place.

Earlier, the head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Bunechko, warned that the Russian army had used missiles with cluster warheads during the shelling of Zhytomyr region, which meant that there was a possibility that they could be outside the attacked facilities.
