Scrap workers find unexploded shells, demolition teams arrive at former Metallurgical
Scrap workers at the collection point of the Turkish company Kurum International, in the former Elbasan Metallurgical Plant, have found some unexploded war shells this morning.
According to reports, the shells were accidentally spotted by the workers during work, who immediately notified the state structures.
Fortunately, there were no incidents with the scrap workers during their work process, while it is known that the police and civil emergency forces went to the scene.
There is still no data on the number of war shells found in the scrap yard in the former Metallurgical Plant of Elbasan, while the process of dismantling them by engineers is underway and the source of where they came from is being investigated.
The presence of ammunition and shells in scrap yards is a potential danger to the lives of workers, and there have been quite a few cases of incidents with consequences for their lives.
