On August 8 (today), during a search operation against Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres in Saranda Forest area under the Chotanagara Police Station limits in West Singhbhum District of Jharkhand, an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion injured a trooper of the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA), the special anti-Naxal [Left Wing Extremism, LWE] unit of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), reports Devdiscourse. Sub-Inspector Jitendra Dani of the CoBRA 209 battalion was airlifted and admitted to a Ranchi hospital for advanced treatment, according to a Police statement.
