Grenade event in Manipur, Leirongthel Pitra Lok Macha, Thoubal District area, India on Wed 7th August 2024

A combined team of Special Operation Group (SOG) and 5/9 Gurkha Regiment recovered arms and ammunition from the foothills of Leirongthel Pitra Lok Macha under Nongpok Sekmai Police Station in Thoubal District of Manipur on August 5, reports The Sangai Express. During the search operation, the team seized two 9mm SMG with magazine, two 9mm pistol, one .32 pistol, two 303 Rifle (country made), one 12 Bore Single Barrel Gun, six hand grenades,  three live rounds of MK III, six tear smoke shell, five live cartridges of 12 Bore Gun, fifteen live 9mm ball rounds, 40  live rounds of 7.62x 39mm ammunition, 44 live rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, three live .32 ball  rounds, twelve live rounds of 5.56 INSAS ammunition, one tube launcher, two hand grenade detonator, two grenade detonators  of MK III and one hand set marked "Baofeng".
