A soldier was killed while another soldiers sustained injuries when unidentified militants attacked a Frontier Corps (FC) check post in Birmal tehsil (revenue unit) of South Waziristan District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the morning of August 6, reports Dawn. An unnamed official said Lance Naik Numan was killed while Havaldar Nabiullah was injured in the exchange of fire with the militants. “The attack was repulsed by the retaliatory action by the FC personnel,” official said
