A 25-year-old man has died after a shooting in Borås early on Friday morning. The police have started a preliminary investigation into murder.

- I heard an insanely loud alarm, says Margit, 75, who lives nearby.

At half past five this morning, the police received calls from several people who heard loud bangs at Sjöbo in Borås. At the scene, a 25-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound and the police took him to hospital, where the man died.

At the moment, no one has been arrested.

- The investigative work is now in full swing, says Christian Brattgård, the police's press officer.

The man was found outdoors near a residential area. According to the police, it is too early to know whether there are any connections to criminal networks.

- We are of course looking at that, but it is too early to make a statement now.

According to SVT's reporter on the spot, there are several cordons around a forest area.

- There are several police cars, police officers and technicians investigating the scene, in the forest part there is a playground and a soccer field, says reporter Karin Avenäs.

Margit, 75, lives nearby and woke up to the sirens.

- I thought it was war, I looked out and saw a fire truck driving. It was very, very nasty, she says.
