SAA event in Balochistan, Gwadar area, Pakistan on Tue 30th July 2024

An assassination attempt targeting Dr. Mahrang Baloch, central organizer of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), and other BYC leaders during the ‘Baloch Raaji Muchi’ (Baloch National Gathering) in Gwadar city (Gwadar District) of Balochistan was reportedly foiled on July 28 as the participants of the ‘Baloch Raaji Muchi’ apprehended two Military Intelligence (MI) agents, armed with 9mm pistols and several rounds of ammunition, near the stage of the event, reports The Balochistan Post. In a video obtained by The Balochistan Post, the captured men confessed to being sent by MI to assassinate Dr. Baloch and other BYC leaders. Following the capture of the agents, SFs reportedly demanded their immediate handover, warning of severe consequences for the BYC leadership if the agents were not released. Earlier, the BYC reported threats from SFs to kill party leaders, including Dr. Mahrang Baloch and Sammi Deen Baloch. An audio recording, allegedly of the Deputy Commissioner of Gwadar making these threats, has surfaced on social media platforms
