Air Delivered event in Yemen on Sat 20th July 2024
20th July 2024
On 20 July 2024, Israeli fighter jets conducted 3 strikes on Al Hudaydah - Port (Al Hali) that damaged two cranes, a marine control tower, and at least 33 fuel tanks, causing large fires with fuel burning for days after the strikes. An aid vessel also sustained minor damage to its fuel storage facility and to a crane onboard. The strikes killed at least 6 civilians, all Yemen Petroleum Company port employees, and injured at least 80 others including many that were hospitalized with severe burns. Some sources claimed a total of 14 fatalities but the numbers were unverified. The strikes were part of Israeli Operation Outstretched Arm that struck Al Hudaydah - Port and the Ras al Kathib power station near Dayr al Afif as a response to a Houthi drone strike that killed 1 person in Tel Aviv on 19 July. They were the first Israeli strikes on Yemen.
