On 23 July 2024, in Pyin Ka Doe Kone village (Kyaikto township, Thaton district, Mon state), artillery shells fired by the Myanmar military's No.301 artillery unit during a clash with resistance forces near Kyauk Tan Ka Lay village (coded separately) landed in the village. VOA reported that 7 locals were killed and 7 others were injured. The DVB and Karen Information Center News reported that 6 local men were killed and 12 others sustained injuries. Meanwhile, the Independent Mon News Agency reported that 7 men and a woman were killed and at least 6 others were injured. Fatalities coded as 6, using the lowest estimates.
