On 23 July 2024, in Laukkaing town (Laukkaing township, Kokang Self-Administered Zone, Shan-North state), the military conducted airstrikes on the Ton Chaing area at least three times starting from around 1:30 am. Two staff, including a woman, from Lucky Hotel were killed, and some companies were damaged. Other source, Shwe Phee Myay News Agency, reported that 2 locals were killed and 3 others, including a Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) security member, were injured. Fatalities coded as 2.
