A man in his 30s was found early Tuesday evening with gunshot wounds in an apartment in Jordbro, Haninge municipality outside Stockholm. The police state that the man is seriously injured. A suspected perpetrator has been arrested and detained.

At 5:53 p.m., the police received several calls from people who thought they heard gunfire from inside an apartment. Police later found a man with a gunshot wound inside the apartment. According to the police, the man was shot outside the apartment.

Technicians worked on the scene during the evening and the police have begun questioning witnesses who were on the scene before, during and after the incident.

The injured man was taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter.

- The man is seriously injured, he has a gunshot wound, but we will not disclose where on his body he was shot, says Ola Österling, the police's spokesperson.

The incident is classified as attempted murder.

During Tuesday evening, the police announced that a man has been arrested and is reasonably suspected of attempted murder. The man was later arrested.

According to information to SVT from the criminal environment, the Foxtrot network is said to be behind the shooting.

They are said to have shot the man found in the apartment to mark against the Zero network which is active in Jordbro. However, this is information that the police do not want to comment on, but say that they are putting the incident into context.

- That includes that we must survey all involved parties that we judge may have involvement in this, what we have found in that investigation is not something we can go out and make public, says Ola Österling.

The Foxtrot network is considered to be greatly weakened since leading people have either been killed, sentenced to punishment or deprived of liberty in Sweden and other countries such as Tunisia.

However, there are indications from within the criminal community that the network is trying to rebuild its operations, including from Sulaymaniyya, the hometown of Rawa Majid's parents in the autonomous region of Iraqi Kurdistan in northeastern Iraq

Internationally wanted Rawa Majid from Uppsala has been detained in Iran for some time, but several independent sources have stated that he has been released.
