A man in his 30s has been found shot in Biskopsgården in Gothenburg. The man was shot in the leg or foot and should not have life-threatening injuries, according to the police.

- He was taken to hospital awake and able to speak, says Göran Carlbom, officer on duty at the police, to the TT news agency.

The crime scene was cordoned off for a technical investigation and the police have, among other things, knocked on doors in the area.

The alarm about gunfire came in just after 02.00.

The police have opened a preliminary investigation into attempted murder and serious weapons offences. According to the police, the man in his 30s is previously known to the police.

- No one has been arrested at the moment, says police spokesperson Caroline Karlsson.
