On 12 July 2024, in Lashio town (Lashio township, Lashio district, Shan-North state), heavy weapons fired by the military landed on a teacher dormitory near the No.9 Basic Education High School (BEHS) in No. 4 ward at around 4:30 pm. The heavy weapons also landed in area 5 of No. 1 ward, and No. 10 ward. Eleven Media Group reported that the TNLA and MNDAA were responsible for firing the heavy weapons, while Khit Thit Media, Myanmar Pressphoto Agency, and DVB reported that it was the military's heavy weapons. Eleven Media Group, Khit Thit Media and Myanmar Pressphoto Agency reported that 3 locals, including two teachers, were killed and DVB reported that 4 locals were killed. Fatalities coded as 3, using the lowest estimates.
