On 14 July 2024, Iraqi army warplanes (F16s) with support from the Asayish and the National Security Service conducted airstrikes on the hideouts and bases of IS militants in Mount Zambur in Daquq district (coded as Daquq city, Kirkuk). The hideouts were destroyed, one IS militant was injured and another one was killed. The operation was conducted as a retaliation for the death of Asayish member Jawamer Aziz Rashid who had been killed on 14 July 2024 by IS militants. 1 injured, 1 fatality.
