On 16 July 2024, in Aye Lar town (Lewe township, Det Khi Na district, Nay Pyi Taw region), the combined troops of the Mountain Knights Civilian Defense Force, Mercury Revolution Force and Brave Warriors for Myanmar attacked the Aye Lar airbase with five 107 mm rockets around 8:30 am. Four buildings, a warehouse, and an armory in the airbase compound and three planes including two fighter jets were destroyed. DVB reported that at least 35 military soldiers were killed. Khit Thit Media, RFA and Myanmar Pressphoto Agency reported that 34 military soldiers, including 7 airforce officers, were killed. Fatalities coded as 34, using the lowest estimate.
