On 17 July 2024, JNIM militants fired an RPG at the health center causing extensive material and infrastructural damage in the town of Djibo (Djibo, Soum). They also damaged sites of the NGO MSF (Doctors Without Borders), offices of the national company for food security stock management (SONAGESS), and set fire to several stores and shops. A cell phone antenna was destroyed and an IDP site was also damaged. There were no casualties.
