On 31 August 2019, 7 Saudi-led coalition airstrikes reportedly targeted Dhamar city in the ambit of a qualitative operation meant to strike pro-Houthi military sites. The airstrikes hit a prison in the Community College north of the city, killing at least 134 prisoners and injuring at least 40.
