On 6 July 2024, in Lashio town (Lashio township, Lashio district, Shan-North state), artillery shells fired by an unidentified armed group landed on the Seik Ta Thu Kha monastery in No.7 ward in the morning. Three novices sustained injuries. On the same day, artillery shells struck a restaurant located near No.30 street in No.5 ward, killing a man and injuring another.
