A Serbian policeman was shot dead and another wounded near the border with Bosnia early Thursday, authorities said, sparking a manhunt for the culprit.The shooting happened during a routine vehicle inspection near the western city of Loznica, said an interior ministry statement."While exiting the vehicle, one person fired a gun, hitting police officer Nikola Krsmanovic in the chest and police officer Vjekoslav Ilic in the shoulder, after which he fled," said the statement.Both officers were taken to a nearby hospital, where Krsmanovic died, it added. A special unit has been deployed to help with the search, along with helicopters and drones, said the ministry. The authorities in Bosnia were also helping with a search on their territory.
