Gunmen mounted in pickups and motorcycles attacked DAMATURU, YOBE State from the south east around 5.00am with small arms, RPGs, AA guns and IEDs. The attackers approached from the bush through GUJBA Road and Bukar Abba Ibrahim University attacking the MOPOL Base, CTU Base 6, JTF HQ, Government House, YOBE State Radio, telecom masts, a primary school and Government House. The Attack on CTU Base 6 was reportedly initiated with a suicide detonated VBIED, however sentries succeeded in stopping it from penetrating the perimeter. Air support arrived around 8.00am Friendly forces reacted with air and ground forces to defeat the attack, reportedly inflicting up to 60 casualties on the enemy for the loss of 6 soldiers, 38 MOPOL and 2 medical doctors. 115 civilians have been reported killed and 78 injured (SVBIED)
