Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) checks are being conducted in the forest borders following Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) presence in Kannur District of Kerala, reported thaliparamba.truevisionnews.com on June 29. Inspections are being conducted in Kotiyur, Aralam, Kolithut, and Pakhmathod areas. The BDS is accompanied by a team led by the local Police and Thunderbolt, under the India Reserve Battalion (IRB). The investigation was conducted following the discovery of a landmine planted by Maoists in Makkimala village under Thalappuzha Police Station limits in Wayanad District on June 25.
