SAA event in Chittagong, Madhurchhara 4-Extension camp in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar District area, Bangladesh on Mon 15th July 2024

On July 14, an Armed Police Battalion (APBn) personnel, identified as Shahraj (25), was killed in a gunfight with criminals in F-block of the Rohingya camp in the Madhurchhara 4-Extension camp in Ukhiya Upazila (Sub-District) in Cox’s Bazar District of Chittagong Division, reports The Daily Star. Shahraj was a constable at Madhurchhara Police Camp under the 14 APBn. Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police Mohammad Iqbal confirmed the incident and said, “At one point, 30 to 35 miscreants entered the camp and started firing indiscriminately at the APBn members. The APBn members also fired back in self-defence. At one stage, the terrorists escaped.”
