A woman Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadre, identified as Rita Madiyam (30), carrying a cash reward of INR 800,000 on her head, was killed in an encounter with Security Forces (SFs) in the forests of Chhote Bethiya in Binagunda village in Kanker District in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh on July 9, reports The Times of India. Security personnel recovered the dead body of the female cadre along with a.303 rifle and explosives from the site of the encounter. Rita, a native of Bijapur District, was active as a member of the People's Liberation Guerilla Army's (PLGA) ‘military company number 5’.
