14:25EAT, Hamar Weyne, Mogadishu: an al Shabaab vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) targets a Somali Youth League anniversary celebration. The device detonated as security forces were attempting to dismantle it. The attackers were believed to have a 'trigger-man' in line of sight of the vehicle who launched the explosive when security forces were seen to intervene. No casualties reported. Two suspects were arrested in the aftermath. (VBIED)
