On 9 July 2024, in Let Pan Chaung village of (Kale township, Kale district, Sagaing region), heavy artillery shells fired by the No.10 military training school landed on a school building operating under the National Unity Government (NUG) at around 11:30 am. DVB reported that the shelling killed a 16-year-old student and injured five other people, including two female students. Mizzima reported that a student was killed, and seven others were injured.
