On 9 July 2024, between Oke Hpo Lay Ywar Thit and Than Kone villages (coded as Oke Hpo Lay Ywar Thit) (Madaya township, Pyinoolwin district, Mandalay region), the Myanmar military conducted airstrikes two times and dropped bombs between 12 pm and 1:30 pm with a fighter jet from the Tada-U airbase. One 10-year-old child was killed and 5 other family members, including one father and one mother, were injured. 2 houses were also destroyed. Locals from Oke Hpo Lay Ywar Thit and Than Kone villages were forced to flee due to the airstrike.
