On 10 July 2024, in Hta Naung Taw (North) village (Monywa township, Monywa district, Sagaing region), heavy artillery shells fired by the Myanmar military troops landed in the village at around 10:30 am. The shelling killed a 62-year-old female civilian and injured another male civilian. Khit Thit Media reported that two civilians died in the shelling. Fatalities coded 1 using the lowest estimate.
