On 10 July 2024, in Lashio town (Lashio township, Lashio district, Shan-North state), two rounds of heavy artillery shells fired by the Myanmar military landed on Aung Tha Pyay 2nd street in area-1 of No.9 ward at around 6 am. Another artillery round landed and damaged a house on Parami Road in Area 1 of the No.1 ward. DVB reported that the shelling in No.9 ward killed 2 civilians, including a child and a woman, and injured 10 others. The Kachin News Group and the Shan Herald Agency for News reported that the shelling in No.9 ward killed 3 civilians, including a 13-year-old boy and two women aged 20 and 50. Myanmar Now reported that the shelling in No.9 ward killed 3 locals and injured 10 other locals. Fatalities coded as 3 using the latest update.
