12th July 2024
Around 12 July 2024 (as reported), Houthi forces claimed a drone, ballistic missile, and anti-ship missile attack targeting the Chrysalis crude oil tanker (IMO: 9437684) in the South Red Sea and then in the Strait of Bab el Mandeb (coded to South Red Sea) claiming affiliation with companies in violation of the Houthi ban to call at Israeli ports. There were no fatalities or injuries as the drone likely impacted the water before reaching the intended target. The attack was not confirmed by other sources. The Chrysalis had passed through the Suez Canal from the Mediterranean Sea on 7 July heading to India.
