On 28 June 2024, in Kauk Mei Thu village (Nyaunglebin township, Bago district, Bago-East region), the Myanmar military forces launched five drone strikes on the village at around 12:30 pm. The drone strikes killed 7 locals, including a 17-year-old. Mizzima reported that 6 civilians and a member of local PDF died in the drone strikes.
