On 1 July 2024, in Kyaukme town (Kyaukme township, Kyaukme district, Shan-North state), the military fired some artillery rounds on the town in the evening, hitting and killing two 30-year-old men and a 50-year-old woman in No.8 and 9 wards near the BEHS-9 school, according to Khit Thit Media and DVB. Another source, Shwe Phee Myay News Agency reported that a family of three, including two 30-year-old men and a 50-year-old woman were shot dead by an unidentified armed group at their home.
