On 2 July 2024, near Kyeintali town (Gwa township, Thandwe district, Rakhine state), a landmine exploded and injured a 28-year-old man from the No.1 ward when he stepped on the landmine planted by the Myanmar military near a police station while looking for mushrooms. He was severely injured and lost his leg.
