On 3 July 2024, militants (coded as TTP) detonated an IED targeting the vehicle of a former PTI senator and brother of former KPK governor near Damadola village (Bajaur, KPK). The former senator and four others, including two family members, and two body guards were killed in the explosion. The former senator had travelled to the area to support his nephew in his re-election campaign and had been warned by security officials against traveling. 5 fatalities.
