On 3 July 2024, in Lashio town (Lashio township, Lashio district, Shan-North state), artillery shells fired by an unidentified armed group during the clash between the Myanmar military and a combined force of the MNDAA and allies landed on a house in No.1 ward, killing six family members including three children. On the same day, artillery shells fired by an unknown armed group landed on the Pang Oke monastery in the No.7 ward, on the Byu Har Street in the No.1 ward, in the No.7 ward, near the Taw Ya monastery in the No.10 ward, near a golf course, in Myo Wan area, near the veteran housing in the No.9 ward and in front of the the Phyo Pyone Cho car workshop near the Yan Aung Myin pagoda. RFA reported that a monk and a novice were killed, and Myanmar Now reported that 3 locals were killed and 4 were injured in Pang Oke monastery. KIC, Shan Herald Agency for News and Shwe Phee Myay News Agency reported that a man was killed, and three novices and two women were injured in Pan Oke monastery. Fatalities coded as 7 (including 6 family members from No.1 ward and one local from Pang Oke monastery in No.7 ward).
